Wakefield Brewster is a unique, innovative and very talented Spoken Word Artist who became an integral part of the family at The GRAND as our Official Resident Poet and Spoken Word Artist.

He's an iconic part of the rebirth and growth of our theatre, as it has become a very important Culture House of Contemporary Performing Arts in the Arts & Culture ecosystem in Calgary.

Wakefield epitomizes the collective will of our team of Artists and Staff to make a difference in our world and recently became a pivotal member of our very active Board of Ambassadors with responsibility for promoting our theatre in the broader community.

In 2019, Wakefield was a leader in our first ever Black History Month performance and will continue to lead into the future of The Grand.
