Creating Waves With ARC
In My World Of Words, ARC is a noun, a verb, an acronym, a double-entendre, a triple-entendre, (if you worthily wrestle with it), a biblical reference, (albeit, sp.), a misnomer, and a very simple word, simply underused in general, and often misused when activated.
That’s a mighty powerful presence and presentation for one word.
Adult Recreational Choirs of Calgary has been in full-swing-existence for more than two decades, going strongly - and growing.
A few months back, I had announced being approached by Michelle Kotelko and Torri Airhart, (of ARC), to blend artistic arsenals in a collaborative effort.
I responded with a thunderous and resounding affirmative!
This production, “I’ll Meet You There”, artistically exhibits a relatable thread that weaves through common fabrics of shared human experiences; the story of human conditions, moving from darkness to light.
Furthermore, there is the sub-theme of what we are still living today, glaringly, and subtly:
Post-COVID-19-Conditions.
My primary task was to write seven new poems to weave in-between the choir pieces.
Once completed, the production was at last prepared, and we performed 3 shows at the Jack Singer Hall in Arts Commons.
The greatest gift I received, was the opportunity to become a small part of my largest all-vocal, group collaboration, to date.
ARC, you pushed all of my creative energies to new places, and I Thank You so much for growing my artistry.
Until our next “Fantastic Voyage”,
WordWizard, out.
